A Long Day at the Brisbane Airport
After the 10 hour flight from Korea, we had about an 11 hour layover in Brisbane before a 2 1/2 hour flight to Cairns. We were a tired bunch and, like Mark with his Dora the Explorer book, tried desperately to entertain ourselves any way possible.
I think I forgot to mention how Lisa nearly caused an international incident by reclining her seat on the flight to Seoul. As far as we knew, a seat that reclines is meant to be reclined -- particularly on a 10 hour flight. Turns out some Koreans -- or at least the one behind Lisa -- feel otherwise. No blows were exchanged but it certainly was not a friendly diplomatic exchange.
The flight to Cairns was on an airline called JetStar -- very much like Southwest with general seating. Possibly the tightest cabin I've ever seen -- every possible seat was crammed into that thing. Another international incident was avoided when Mark held his tounge when "engineering" was called to inspect his American car seat for Sydney -- and it was ruled to be non-Australian certified and hauled off. Needless to say little Sydney was none too pleased.
